Two Major Tradeshows (in 2 different countries!) Within 4 Days
Organization began months in advance…
Everything had to be planned to the “T”…
From product preparation, to staff travel details, to equipment pack lists and transportation arrangements…

They sure could. And what an impact they made at both shows!

Catersource 2008 Conference & Tradeshow
The booth turnout at Catersource was unprecedented to the Total Party Planner team. It was without a doubt the busiest show we have ever done. People were coming at the booth from every direction to see the software they were hearing so much “buzz” about.
The best part of the show, however, was the steady stream of current clients who stopped by throughout the two days – just to say hi and let us know how much the program has helped grow their business.

Still excited from the non-stop commotion at Catersource, the team moved on to Toronto – where the excitement only continued to grow stronger! The Canadian companies were absolutely thrilled to see such powerful desktop and web-based programs demonstrated. Our 30-day fully functional trial cd’s were a welcome change to the view-only video presentations that other companies were offering.
To succeed with back-to-back tradeshows just shows the character and determination of this team. It’s the same character and determination experienced at Total Party Planner each and every day – whether it is in building our software, or providing un-paralled customer service to our clients.

Industry Trends Toward Web-Based Solution
There is no disputing the fact that our lives are becoming more and more mobile. The internet, along with wireless devices, are paving the way to absolute freedom. For many companies, staying connected “anywhere, anytime” is a critical component to their success.
The Total Party Planner team can most certainly confirm the mobile trend. For the past several months, web-based sales have been dominating desktop sales. The web just makes sense for so many rapidly growing businesses to manage their work in the, increasingly, red-hot hospitality industry. The team consistently hears the words “thank you” from companies who have been waiting a long time for a web-based catering and banquet management solution to be introduced to the industry.
We are proud to be the first, and only, company to offer a full scale catering and banquet management web-based application. The Total Party Planner solution is much more than an online “order taker”. In brief summary, the system manages clients, calendar, complete Event detail, recipes, food cost, final profit analysis, receivables, and much more.
A sample of our web-based application success stories:
- A client in Western New York was managing two different companies in Buffalo and Rochester. By moving to a web-based solution they are now able to completely manage both companies from a single location - the owners home!
- A client was recently in attendance at the Idea Factory/Catersource Conference in Miami, FL. When they received a call from one of their clients needing a Proposal “ASAP!”, they said “no problem”. It was as simple as walking out to the cyber cafe, logging in to their company, then creating and emailing the Proposal right then and there. Awesome.
- A client uses our web-based system as a company “perk” for their employees. By allowing them to occasionally work from home, they are seeing a rejuvenated work force.

New Corporate Headquarters Opened
After months of planning and preparation, the Total Party Planner team has officially moved to it’s new corporate headquarters in Ashland Virginia!
Our new location will allow the company to physically grow in size in order to keep up with a client list that has more than doubled in the past year. The explosive growth has been due, mainly, to the popularity of our industry leading web-based solution.
Exciting changes from the move include:
- An office twice the size of our old location to allow for continued staff expansion.
- Double the number of phone lines for increased customer service and support.
- State of the art conference rooms for on-site training and demonstrations.

New Logo Unveiled
On May 21, 2007 the TPP team unveiled its new logo!
Why the change? The new look was designed to compliment our software design philosophy of… “simplicity”.

Another Sysco Location Includes TPP in iCARES Program
Sysco Virginia has officially added Total Party Planner to their iCARE’s program! They join Sysco South Florida as promoters of the TPP catering software line of products.
On March 30th, the Sysco Virginia sales representatives were impressed in their monthly sales meeting with the power and flexibility that TPP provides. The majority of the reps left the meeting excited to present TPP to at least one, or more, of their clients.
On April 10th, we impressed even more people! At Sysco Virginia’s annual tradeshow, it was the Sysco clients themselves who learned about both our desktop AND web-based applications. The most common remark was in regards to the applications’ ease of use.
Total Party Planner is proud to expand our presence within the iCARE’s program!
To note : iCARE is a collection of value-added resources offered exclusively by SYSCO to it’s customers. The philosophy of SYSCO’s program is about providing their customers with tools and services that will ensure the success of their operations.

Catersource 2007 Attendees Respond to Industry “Buzz”
Before the Catersource 2007 Conference & Tradeshow show even started, conference participants were hearing all the “buzz” being created by their colleagues using TPP. They were curious to see for themselves, first hand, the excitement TPP is providing the software industry. The “buzz” is why people came to the booth. The choice of products, and people they met, is why many purchased on-site.
Companies witnessed the awesome new web-based solution released in 2006. You could feel the excitement as we explained that maintaining software upgrades, managing complex networks, and data backup worries, are all a thing of the past. And working “from anywhere, anytime” proved to be an invaluable asset to many companies.
Attendees also saw a sneak preview of our latest desktop version 8.0 due out it late February. Version 8.0 will have more new features than any other desktop upgrade released in the past. We can’t wait for our current desktop clients to receive this upgrade!
Our entire team would like to thank each and every person at the Catersource 2007 Conference & Tradeshow who stopped by the TPP booth. Whether you were researching software, or a current client that just wanted to say hello – it was a pleasure to see all of you.
As the competition in the software market continues to heat up, TPP will continue to remain focused on building great software solutions, keeping prices affordable, and providing customer service that always exceeds a clients expectations.

TPP Displayed at Sysco’s Holiday Luncheon Seminar
Total Party Planner was among a handful of invited vendors who displayed their products at Sysco South Florida’s Annual Holiday luncheon seminar. The theme of the luncheon was specifically geared toward catering marketing and trends.
The response to the Total Party Planner display table, from both the catering companies in attendance and the Sysco representatives, was tremendous. Companies interest in our new web solution, however, was definitely the hot topic of the day.
We look forward to our next visit in Miami.

TPP Continues to Expand Staff

TPP Joins International Caterers Association

Last week Computica Software officially became a member of the ICA. The International Caterers Association (ICA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, mentoring and service for professional caterers and promoting the profession of catering to clients, industry members, vendors and the public.

Preferred Vendor for Virginia Barbeque Company
Total Party Planner has been chosen as the preferred software choice for the rapidly expanding Virginia Barbeque Company franchise.
The owners of the franchise, Rick & Nina Ivey, first purchased Total Party Planner for their catering business in 1999. Since then they have gone on to create the widely successful Virginia Barbeque Company franchise. The company plans to have 100 stores open by December 2010! Rick told us “Our goal at Virginia Barbeque is to get our franchisee the best partnerships with the finest business tools at the best price.”
