Quick Costing

 

To generate accurate Event costing without having to build recipes for particular menu item(s), use the ‘Quick Costing’ feature. The final recipe cost result is the same as building a recipe - without entering all the detail.

1.    Select the ‘Menu Items> Full Search’ option from the Navigation Bar.

2.    Using the search function, find the menu item just added to the database. Be sure to click the ‘Search’ button to apply your criteria. Refer to the topic Updating Menu Item Data for more detailed information on searching.

3.    Select a Menu Item by clicking the ‘View’ link.

4.    Click on the ‘Recipe & Costing’ tab.

5.    Click the ‘Edit Quick Costing’ checkbox inside the ‘Quick Costing’ frame.

6.    Select the Active ‘Status’ from the drop-down list.

7.    Enter the estimated ‘Cost’ for this Menu Item. Note: this would be the cost based on the ‘Per Person Serves’ entry.

8.    Click the ‘Save’ button.
